Last September I sat in an ICU watching someone I love more than life in a tangle of tubes having a machine breathe for him. There were many times throughout that week that I thought it was time to say my goodbyes. By the grace of God, he recovered and is still with us today. Upon returning home, we introduced a tamper-proof medication box. Initially there was much resistance. With time, this box has been a game changer – to date, we have experienced only 2 hospitalizations and they were not from overdoses. As of today that person I love more than life says – “Everyone like me should have a box like this”. On one occasion noting – “Yesterday was a bad day and had I not had that box, I may have taken more pills than I was supposed to”. Victory!
